In a world that sees a different gear brand collaborating with a new artist seemingly every day, Benchmade knows that good things must come to those who wait. It’s been two years since the Oregon-based knife outfit debuted its inagural Artist Series release, tapping independent outdoor-leaning freelance artist Casey Underwood to design a quartet of Mini Crooked River knives, each featuring one of the most fished North American species front and center across each blade and bolster.
Two years later, Benchmade and the Montana-based Underwood have reunited for yet another beautiful series of knives, showcasing once again the Mini Crooked River. This time around, each of the four knives features a different game animal etched into the metal blade and bolster: a mallard, a pheasant, a bull elk, and a whitetail deer. All four handles sport satin-finished DymaLux Rosewood wooden handles, but each comes equipped with a different color pivot collar: yellow, blue, brass, or orange, respectively.
The Mini Crooked River knife has been a favorite of outdoorsmen and hunters for some time, and this sophomore Artist Series release allows for unique collectibility and an opportunity to connect with these blades on a personal level. The blade itself is the same 3.4” satin-finished CPM-S30V stainless steel clip-point that contributes to the 3.29oz total weight of the knife.
