One of the hottest up-and-coming designers in the worlds of fashion and product design has to be Samuel Ross. The 30-year-old Londoner, a mentee of Off-White founder Virgil Abloh, has worked with brands such as Nike, Doc Martens, and Kanye West’s Donda, and has his own increasingly popular label called A-COLD-WALL*. Now, you can add Apple to the list of Ross’s clients, as the designer collaborated with the electronics giant on a limited-edition pair of Beats headphones.
The Beats Studio3 Wireless A-COLD-WALL* headphones are a special version of Beats’ premium over-ear headphones. The headphones forgo the colorful-yet-sterile look of the regular Beats Studio3s to take some more risks in the design. The silhouette is given a slate color with a speckled cement pattern that goes over both the body of the headphones and the ear cushions; a color combination that Beats calls A-COLD-WALL* Cement. The headphones also feature the ACW* bracket logo on the side above a thin onyx stripe, while the interior is an off-white (no pun intended) Clay color. Under the refreshed exterior, you’re getting the same Beats Studio3 performance with Pure Active Noise Cancelling, up to 22 hours of battery life, a powerful Apple W1 chip processor, and real-time audio calibration.
Apple currently lists the Beats Studio3 Wireless A-COLD-WALL* headphones as “coming soon” on their online store with no official release date. When the headphones do arrive, they’ll be priced at $350.
