Peña Knives’ X-Series Dogleg Jack Adds Modern Elements to a Classic Design

Presented by

There are almost too many styles of pocket knives out there to list, from wood-handled gentleman’s knives to tactical OTF automatics. But one of the rarer styles that we wish we saw more of is the Dogleg Jack. These old-school patterned pen knives feature a distinct, curved, serpentine handle that not only looks interesting but makes for an extremely ergonomic grip.

Peña Knives out of Texas is one of the few companies out there making Doglegs today, and the brand has teamed up with Blade HQ for a modernized take on the form with the new X-Series Dogleg Jack. The exclusive pocket knife features the typical curved snake-like handle of the style but transforms the usually classically-styled knife into a blacked-out contemporary EDC essential.

The aforementioned serpentine handle is finished in black micarta and reinforced with titanium bolsters. It’s paired with a black-finished 3” spear point blade made from premium CPM M4 steel that opens via brand founder Enrique Peña’s proprietary (and exceptional) front flipper mechanism, regarded as one of the finest opening designs on the market. The X-Series knife is rounded out with a steel lockbar framelock and a tip-up titanium pocket clip.

If you’re looking for a classic and unique pocket knife style with an added dash of modern design and technology, then the Peña Knives X-Series Dogleg Jack is for you. It’s available now exclusively at Blade HQ for $289.
