Mercedes-AMG Rolls Out a Luxurious & Off-Road-Capable G 63 4×4² Super Truck

Mercedes-AMG has finally pulled the cover off of its all-new, off-road-capable G 63 4×4² — a go-anywhere version of the AMG-Wagen that maintains the regular G 63’s class-leading luxury. Coming on the heels of the G 63 AMG 6×6, G 500 4×4², and Mercedes-Maybach G 650 Landaulet, the new G 63 4×4² gains a host of off-road-ready features that are exclusive to the latest Squared model.

Touted by Mercedes-AMG as being the very last vehicle of its kind, the G 63 4×4² gains an independent suspension setup with portal axles, a front skid plate, a roof-integrated LED lightbar set in a custom carbon fiber housing, and carbon fiber fender flares that open up space to accommodate the model’s 22” forged wheels and all-terrain tires. The back of the car also carries a full-size, 22” spare wheel and tire protected behind a carbon fiber cover.

In addition to affording 13.8” of ground clearance, these off-road upgrades enable the G 63 4×4² to climb slopes as steep as 45° and take on water crossings as deep as 35.8”. Under the hood, the 4×4² packs a bi-turbo 4.0-liter V8 — the same mill found in the regular G 63 model — though the engine has been retuned to now put down 585hp and at least 627ft-lbs of torque, all of which is sent to the ground via an advanced four-wheel-drive system. Because the G 63 Squared is built by Mercedes’ G Manufaktur program, customers are given a wealth of customizable options for interior and exterior colors and finishes.

Pricing and market availability have yet to be revealed, though we anticipate the 2023 Mercedes-AMG G 63 4×4² carrying an MSRP of around $300,000. The G 63 Squared will also be produced in limited numbers.
