If you’re at all familiar with Victorinox’s catalog, you’ll know that the legendary Swiss brand has certainly imbued its current watch range with a modern mindset. Its flagship I.N.O.X. and Dive Pro lines commonly featured case materials like carbon fiber and titanium, while the visual design of these timepieces continue to push the envelope while maintaining their incredible utility. However, with its latest Swiss Army Automatic model, Victorinox has combined both vintage and modern in a beautiful way. the

Available in either black or blue dials, with matching aluminum inserts on the fixed bezels, the Swiss Army Automatic is the perfect everyday watch, whether you’re headed to the office or the wilderness, or just keeping time while doing chores around the house. Held in a 42mm 316L stainless steel case, the timepiece adds just 5.1oz to your wrist and keeps a relatively low profile with its 11-mm thickness. Under the AR-coated sapphire crystal, the matte dial offers superb legibility, contrasting with the oversized white handset and raised white numerals — both of which are filled with Super-LumiNova® lume for evening activities. Powering the watch is a Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, which also provides you with a date window at the bottom of the dial. The caliber can be seen through the exhibition window in the caseback.

Victorinox has been making wristwatches since 1989 and has ensured that each model comes with the utility and durability of the iconic Swiss Army Knives™ it invented nearly 100 years prior. For more rugged tasks, the Swiss Army Automatic watch boasts ISO-certified shock resistance and water resistance at depths of 100m. However, function meets form in several areas — not the least of which is the handsome mesh bracelet that evokes ‘70s-era watchmaking. You can easily swap this out with one of Victorinox’s other straps thanks to the tool-free quick-release system.

Currently priced at $1,075 the Swiss Army Automatic is available now at Reeds Jewelers.
