Seiko’s Fan-Voted 1965 Heritage Diver Wears Tropical Water on Its Wave Dial

Seiko drops limited editions at a pretty ridiculous pace (not that we’re complaining), but this one is a bit different. Instead of cooking up yet another colorway behind closed doors, Seiko handed the decision to the enthusiasts who actually buy these watches. The result is the new Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver’s Watch Fan-Selected Limited Edition HBC011.

Four Dials Enter, One Dial Leaves

Back in July 2025, Seiko ran a month-long global vote, online and in person, pitting four dial concepts against one another. Each channeled the ocean at a different hour of the day, from Sunrise Orange through Sunset Red, with Daytime Blue and Late Afternoon Green in between.

Daytime Blue took the crown, and it’s a bright turquoise that’s meant to evoke tropical water under a high sun.

The 62MAS Underneath

If you strip away the fan-service origin story here, you’re still left with the modern 1965 Heritage Diver. It’s the sleeker 40mm evolution of the 62MAS, Seiko’s very first dive watch from, you guessed it, 1965.

The case measures 13mm thick and 46.4mm lug-to-lug, wears beautifully for a serious diver, and gets Seiko’s super-hard coating on both the case and the three-link bracelet. You also get 300m of water resistance, a screw-down crown, and a curved sapphire crystal up top.

Inside is the in-house 6R55 automatic with a full three days of power reserve. And the clasp packs Seiko’s toolless slide adjuster, good for roughly 15mm of on-the-fly sizing.
