As much as we love Lorier, there has always been an unpleasant ritual to buying one of their watches. Hear that a drop was coming, set an alarm, refresh the site at the appointed minute, then stare at a sold-out button about four minutes later.
And that’s the part the brand is finally trying to fix. Worn & Wound acquired Lorier last week, handing founders Lorenzo and Lauren Ortega the fulfillment and logistics backbone a two-person operation never had, and the first move under new ownership is a reissued core collection of four returning favorites: the Neptune, Hyperion, Astra, and Falcon.
Neptune: The One That Started It
The Neptune is the 2019 diver that put Lorier on the map, and it returns at 39mm with a 37mm bezel, which really feels like the sweet spot for modern day divers.
Black dial, black aluminum insert, gold-tone hands and index frames, plus an oversized crown at 3 o’clock. It’s good for 200 meters, sits 10.3mm thick, and the unidirectional bezel runs a 15-minute scale instead of the full 60. Skin diver rules, and it looks the part.
Hyperion: A Flyer GMT for $799
Now, the Hyperion takes that same 39mm case and trades dive duty for a second time zone. The watch has been treated with gilt accents, a black dial, and an arrow-tipped GMT hand you can track without having to squint.
The good part is inside. The Miyota 9075 is a true flyer GMT with an independently adjustable local hour hand, so you land somewhere and jump the hour forward without disturbing anything else. Plenty of Swiss-powered GMTs at several times the price still make you fiddle with the 24-hour hand instead.
Astra: Dressy, But Not Precious
The Astra is the dress option, and at 36mm across and 8.8mm thick it actually slips under a cuff. Silver pie-pan dial, printed crosshair, faceted hands, and no date window cluttering things up.
Its best trick shows up after dark, when the fully lumed minute track glows in step with the handset. That’s not something you expect from a watch built to live under a blazer.
Falcon: The Everyman Field Watch
The Falcon shares the Astra’s 36mm case but heads outdoors, running a 3-6-9 dial with squared applied indices and chamfered case edges. And it’s all about legibility.
The handset is where it stops being predictable, pairing a big-arrow hour hand with a dauphine minute hand. All four watches ship on tapered flat-link bracelets with solid end links, which is not a given at this money.
