By this point, CIGA design needs little introduction around these parts. The Shenzhen-based outfit became the first Chinese watchmaker to take home a Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève back in 2021, and we’ve covered everything from its wandering-hours Time Cipher to its Everest-dialed Central Tourbillon since.
But according to the brand, it’s the skeletonized models that have become its bestsellers. Now, after rolling the line out piece by piece over the past year, CIGA design is officially introducing its complete Hunter series to the world.
Nothing to Hide, Literally
The Hunter serves as the hero line of CIGA design’s broader EDGE collection that also houses the round-cased Falcon and racing-inspired Vector we’ve covered previously. The entire family is built around one idea the brand sums up as “Nothing to Hide.”
Rather than carving windows into an existing dial, every Hunter is openworked front to back, meaning the in-house caliber effectively is the dial. CIGA credits Bauhaus thinking for the approach. There’s nothing on these watches that isn’t pulling mechanical duty.
From Steel to Sand Gold
The original Hunter Steel kicked things off back in 2025, wrapping the self-developed CD-07 automatic (28,800 vph, 40-hour reserve) in a three-layered octagonal tonneau comprised of 316L stainless steel for $599.
The recently released Hunter Vintage keeps that recipe and price while trading the cool-toned palette for sand gold, rose gold, and brown gold colorways that read surprisingly dressy for a watch with zero dial.
Sitting a tier up, the $899 Hunter Titanium trims the case to 41.5mm x 47.45mm in Grade 5 titanium, bumps water resistance from 3ATM to 5ATM, and lands as the sweet spot of the automatic range.
An In-House Tourbillon for $1,999
Then there’s the flagship timepiece: the Hunter Tourbillon. This piece houses the CD-011, a hand-wound skeleton tourbillon developed entirely in-house, complete with twin barrels and a healthy 72-hour power reserve.
Six openworked bridges fan across the front, while a generous aperture in the lower half gives the tourbillon room to do its thing.
We said it when the watch debuted and we’ll say it again: $1,999 for an in-house tourbillon is a really impressive number. Swiss houses routinely ask five figures, often six, for the same complication.
