Since the brand’s founding a decade-and-a-half ago, Christopher Ward has been reshaping the luxury watch industry by cranking out high-spec, Swiss-made divers and chronometers for considerably less than the competition. Now, the brand has turned their budget-conscious attention to haute horology by launching their most premium piece yet, the C60 Concept, at a price that’s well below what you’d expect.
The C60 Concept boasts a whopping 120-hour power reserve and utilizes the brand’s signature in-house COSC-certified Calibre SH21 automatic movement, which has been given an especially high-end treatment here. The movement has been expertly skeletonized by three of Switzerland’s top watchmaking outfits. Armin Strom manufactured the movement’s “ski slope” bridges, Chronode hand-polished the chamfered edges of the movement for more than six hours under a microscope, and Xenoprint created the unique 3D lumed triangle made of Globolight XP at 12 o’clock. The watch is truly stunning in low light, with the aforementioned Globolight XP triangle accompanied by a blasted, brushed, and polished blue dial ring infilled with Super-LumiNova and a fully-lumed ceramic bezel. All of this premium goodness is encased in a 42mm Grade 2 Titanium case that’s water-resistant to 300m.
Sold on CW’s hybrid rubber/Cordura strap and limited to just 210 units, the C60 Concept is currently available for pre-order through Christopher Ward’s website, where it is priced at $4,370.
