What started as a playful 50th anniversary release, Casio’s Ring Watch has now snowballed into a certified hype item. The watch has since sold out repeatedly, and now even commands triple retail on the secondary market.
Now Casio is giving its tiny G-SHOCK-shaped jewelry an actual day job with the new CRW-H001 smart ring watch.

Same Face, Whole New Brain
From the outside, the CRW-H001 looks nearly identical to the original: a metal-injection-molded stainless steel body with that unmistakable square 5000-series silhouette shrunken down to cocktail-ring proportions. The magic is hiding underneath.
Casio lined the inside of the ring with ceramic to house a proper health monitoring module, complete with optical sensors pressed against your finger. That means continuous heart rate, blood oxygen, body temperature, and sleep tracking, plus daily steps, calories, and dedicated modes for walking, running, and cycling. A low-power vibration motor even buzzes for incoming calls, messages, and alarms, with everything syncing to Casio’s companion app.

The One Thing Oura Can’t Do
Every other smart ring on the market is a mute metal band that hoards your data until you check your phone. The CRW-H001 keeps a fully functional LCD on your finger: time, stopwatch, dual time, auto calendar, and an LED backlight.
And at roughly $294, it undercuts the Oura Ring 4, which starts at $349 before you’ve paid a dime of its $5.99 monthly membership. Is Casio’s sensor accuracy going to dethrone the category leader? We’re not going to pretend it will. But a functioning watch face is a legitimately clever wedge into a crowded market.
