Nothing Touched, Nothing Broken
Underneath the finish, this is the same Signal that became Leatherman’s outdoor favorite. All 19 tools carry over untouched: needlenose pliers, a partially serrated 420HC blade, saw, hammer, bit driver, and the rest.
What’s always set the Signal apart is its survival loadout. There’s an integrated ferro rod for sparking a fire, a diamond-coated sharpener for keeping the blade honest in the field, and a safety whistle. And Leatherman left every bit of it alone.
Where the Sandstorm Earns It
The blade and saw both wear a Cerakote finish in a burnt-bronze camo, and of course, Cerakote isn’t just paint. The ceramic-based coating adds real corrosion and wear resistance, so the desert styling actually buys you a little bit of extra utility as well.
Better still, the ferro rod and sharpener now glow in the dark. Picture when you actually reach for a fire starter – it might be dark and cold, and before you know it, you’ve fumbled the thing into the dirt. A glowing survival tool almost feels essentials on every piece of emergency gear. The whole package rounds out with a matching cream nylon sheath, bronze stitching included.
