Based in Boca Raton, Salvage 2 Savage is a renowned customs shop specializing in elaborate, outside-the-box projects — many of which are documented on the Florida firm’s Youtube channel. Each year when the SEMA show rolls around, S2S gets its time to shine, debuting numerous noteworthy builds. And 2021 was no different, seeing the shop roll out several high-profile projects including a Tesla-powered ’85 Chevy C10 truck (built by S2S’s Mike Rolleri), and an even more bonkers boosted DeLorean prototype.

Designed with the help of concept artist legend Khyzyl Saleem, the DeLorean prototype was built by Salvage 2 Savage lead fabricator Tim Moceri. Taking advantage of the donor’s rear-engine configuration, the build’s original 130hp 2.85L V6 has been jettisoned in favor of a markedly larger LS V8. The small-block V8 has also received a custom twin turbocharger package with all bespoke plumbing — a setup that pokes out from under the car’s rear bumper, putting the compressor housings and meticulous lobster welds on full display. Flared fenders and wheel wells open up room to accommodate a set of deep-dish three-piece Sköl Wheels shod in ultra-wide tires — a necessary modification to keep the build’s newfound power in check. Other noteworthy elements include a one-off carbon wide body kit, custom rear window louvers, bespoke LED-backlit acrylic head and taillight pieces, bespoke Salvage 2 Savage badges, and a revised interior with custom STATUS seats and a host of billet items.

After recently being finished, the DeLorean was shipped across the country to Las Vegas to be displayed at Toyo Tire’s iconic Treadpass at the 2021 SEMA Show, alongside 30-something other noteworthy one-off builds. The car’s transformation can also be viewed on the Salvage 2 Savage Youtube channel.
