There’s certainly no shortage of gadgets to complement your Apple gear, but only a handful of companies can match Apple’s sleek designs and make products that look good next to them. Twelve South is undoubtedly one of these brands, and when a company claims to have made one of the smallest 2-in-1 MagSafe chargers in the market, it takes some confidence. But there’s a reason for Twelve South to have this confidence: they’ve been making high-quality Apple accessories since around when the first iPhone came out (starting in 2009). And the label has just announced the Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger, a portable, travel-friendly charger that can simultaneously charge your iPhone/AirPods and Apple Watch.
The ButterFly is a small puck that can separate into two connected parts, with one side dedicated to iPhone/AirPods charging (15W MagSafe) and the other dedicated to fast-charging Apple Watches (with a nifty little pop-up design for the latter). To drive the travel-friendly design home, the charger also comes with a 30W USB-C power adapter, four international plug adapters, and a travel bag.
Moving away from the tech, this portable charger is made with an anodized aluminum shell (likely to match the iconic silver MacBook) that houses vegan leather inside, so you don’t scratch up your devices. The ButterFly can also be folded into a display stand for both your Apple Watch and iPhone, which is perfect for using the Nightstand and StandBy modes. The meter-long USB-C to USB-C power cord is braided as well for more durability (and style, of course).
The Twelve South ButterFly 2-in-1 MagSafe Charger is available for pre-order now for $130, and orders are slated to begin shipping next week. Not only can you grab one from Twelve South, but Apple is also carrying the charger on its site.
