Although humans have been having problems with hearing since likely the dawn of time, hearing aid technology has only recently begun to see big advancements. After the advent of the telephone, the first electronic hearing aid was created in 1898 and became widely available to the public during the late 20th century. These devices amplify sound so that those suffering from hearing loss can hear more clearly, and in the last couple of decades, tech companies have been entering the arena. And when Sennheiser’s consumer audio subdivision was acquired by the Swiss hearing aid company Sonova in 2021, it was clear that an OTC hearing aid was in the works. Even though Sennheiser’s Conversation Clear Plus wireless earbuds, which dropped earlier this year, can provide enhanced audio and clearer voices, it’s not technically an OTC hearing aid. But now Sennheiser has announced the All-Day Clear and All-Day Clear Slim, which are true OTC hearing aids that have been FDA-approved

Powered by Sonova’s hearing aid technology, both of these hearing aids provide clear sound focused on providing clear voice audio, and detect the space you’re in for accurate and seamless voice optimization. And like every other OTC hearing aid, you don’t need to go to the doctor to get a pair. Adding to this convenience, both pairs can be connected via Android or iPhone to the All-Day Clear app, which allows you to control and customize your audio experience.

As for the battery life, you can expect up to 16 hours of use, which is complemented by the comfortable design of the hearing aids. Additionally, both versions come with a charging case and an accessory kit, with the All-Day Clear Slim version’s case being a little more compact.

The Sennheiser All-Day Clear hearing aids will be available for $1,400, and the All-Day Clear Slim hearing aids will be available for $1,500 starting in mid-July.
