Master & Dynamic has come together with the eclectic Guy Berryman, Coldplay bassist and founder of utilitarian fashion label Applied Art Forms, to churn out a take on the former’s flagship headphones. Garnering inspiration from materials found in the ’60s-era Apollo missions, this limited release is nothing short of cosmic.
The aluminum-made headphones are now doused in silver, beige, and red to bring the look to life. And while the new release’s retro-inspired flair may convince you otherwise, the MH40 is about as modern as any pair of headphones the market has to offer. The over-ears still feature quick-pairing Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity with a 100-foot range and up to 18 hours of battery life — that’s practically a whole day’s worth of music. Best of all, the USB-C-ready muffs can regain up to 50% in merely half an hour.
Audially, expect the same premium sound M&D offers with its standard pair of MH40s, much in part to its dual 40mm neodymium drivers that promote a balanced listening experience. As far as its collaborator goes, Berryman launched Applied Art Forms in 2020, fusing elements of tactical attire and traditional work to churn out staple pieces with a more contemporary look. The bassist’s brand’s stockists include MR PORTER and SSENSE, further cementing its place in the fashion world.
