Let’s face it, using your phone without a protective case is not a good idea. However, swapping out one case for another has never been an easy task. But if you’re going from a day hike to a business meeting, you won’t always want to walk into the latter with a jumbo, bounce-proof piece of rubber encompassing your iPhone. By design, phone protection fits tightly around its frame and can nearly give you carpal tunnel syndrome just from trying to remove it. Now, there’s a different way. DANGO, who’s known for its innovative, outside-the-box gear designs, has come up with the USA-made ADAPT phone case, which is now available for iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

Essentially, the ADAPT allows you to have two different phone cases at once, each with a different purpose. On the one hand, you have the inner case, sporting a sleek exterior made of 0.2mm-thick polypropylene, which is perfect for when you’re at work or out on a Friday night. What’s more, it’s MagSafe compatible for wireless charging and there’s a raised lip around the camera. When you’re ready to head out on your next rugged adventure, you simply attach the outer case, made from CNC-machined 6061 aluminum, which is lightweight and strong, and ULTEM resin, a heat-resistant, high-strength material used in lots of other DANGO gear.

The easy swapping between cases is all thanks to a stainless steel knurled thumb screw at the corner of the case, which lets you loosen and detach the robust exoskeleton without the need for a single tool. Unlike other rigid phone cases, the ADAPT’s outer aluminum-ULTEM case still sports a sleek and stylish design that might even convince you to leave it on for longer.

Available in Jet Black, Satin Silver, or Gun Metal colorways, the ADAPT Case is priced at either $99 or $119 for the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, respectively. Head over to DANGO’s website to get one for yourself.
