Fall is officially upon us, and that means it’s time to put away the sandals and break out the boots. And if you’re a fan of the classics like Todd Snyder is, you may have already considered a pair from Clarks (if you don’t already have some). This legendary label has been in the shoe game since the early 1800s, and even after all this time, they’re still teaming up with contemporaries to reimagine classic silhouettes. Back in 2021, Todd Snyder and Clarks collaborated on a pair of boots that were a resounding success, and now they’re back with the Todd Snyder x Clarks Originals Caravan Boot, a retro reimagining of a classic design.
This collaborative effort isn’t just between Todd Snyder and Clarks Originals, as the duo tapped NYC-based sculpture artist Nick Doyle to help with the construction of these boots. They feature a moccasin construction with soft suede up top, a chunky sole for that old-school look, and Forest Stewardship Council-certified rubber crepe. While the construction is undoubtedly modern, Todd Snyder looked to the past for inspiration, specifically at one of Clarks’ archival silhouettes from the ‘70s.
To quote the man himself, Todd Snyder stated, “I wanted a rugged-yet-modern boot that felt new and fresh for the season. So, we went into the archives and found a lesser-known Clarks style from the 1970s.” The duo has certainly achieved an old-school look with these boots, but what’s even more impressive is the versatility of the style, with a silhouette that looks just as good in the city as it does out in the wild.
The Todd Snyder x Clarks Originals Caravan Boot will be available on October 4th at 10:00 a.m. for $220. They’ll be available in two colorways (gray and navy) exclusively on the Todd Snyder site and select retailers – just in time for the fall season.
