In the world of outerwear, it’s hard for many clothiers to hold a candle to heritage labels like The North Face. Whether that’s due to its adventurous ethos or versatile puffy jackets is neither here nor there, but the Bay Area-bred brand is acknowledging both with a new collection called Icons RMST.
The revamped silhouettes at stake include the timeless Nuptse, Denali, and Himalayan Parka, among others. None of these styles have been reconstructed since the ‘90s, making it the first time some of these ever-so-popular pieces have garnered a new design in 30 years. As expected, each of these garments offers improved weather protection, made apparent by elements like the Nuptse’s 700-fill recycled goose down fill and the water-and-wind-proof capabilities.
As far as the Himalayan Parka is concerned, it boasts the same sustainable 700-fill tech that appears on the remastered Nuptse but is highlighted by a baffled composition to ensure it retains that beloved puffy look. The capsule’s final piece of outerwear is the FUTURELIGHT Mountain Jacket, an advanced technical climbing jacket highlighted by TNF’s proprietary waterproof tech. Lastly, there is a redesigned pair of Mountain Trousers with a streamlined look and FlashDry XD fabrics. The latter paves the way for quick-drying properties and trusty tear resistance.
