By now, you’ve probably noticed how heavily Salomon has crossed into the streetwear scene. Over the past few years, the French performance-wear brand has infiltrated the style world, in part thanks to team-ups with the likes of BEAMS, Dover Street Market, and Palace, among many others. However, Salomon’s history lies very firmly in athletic gear, with trail runners, alpine boots, and even climbing accouterments inhabiting its product range throughout its 76 years of existence. And with its latest collaboration with one of the biggest names in running gear, Salomon reminds the world what it does best.
Based out of Montreal, Ciele Athletics is relatively new to the scene, but since it launched in 2014, it’s become a fan favorite. Together, Ciele and Salomon have now unveiled new editions based on three of the latter’s running shoe silhouettes: the Glide Max TR, Aero Glide, and Reelax Moc 6.0.
Showcasing unique color schemes, the trio of sneakers, while meant for performance, still exhibit a definite sense of style. Leading the pack is the Glide Max TR, a trail runner popular for its capabilities on mixed terrain, unbelievable comfort, and R.Camber Rocker tech that helps you keep going with easy transitions. Here, it’s been given a mostly-white upper with orange and pink designs on the back half. As for the Aero Glide, which has been given the same white color but with a more tropical pattern and colors, the road runner favors a chunky Contragrip outsole and swaps in a mesh upper. Last but not least is the Reelax Moc 6.0, the latest iteration of Salomon’s recovery slide with a 3D mesh upper and molded EVA sockliner. This version is almost entirely white with the exception of an orange and pink pattern on the very back and along the medial side.
Currently, all three performance shoes from the Salomon x Ciele collaboration are available from Slam Jam, ranging in price from $81 to $161.
