Nike ACG Is Reviving the Highly Underrated Rufus Mules

Nike ACG has perfected the blend of past and present, working to push things forward with new drops, and capturing some nostalgia with rereleases of classic apparel from the archives. What’s interesting about the label’s rereleases is how timeless a lot of the pieces are, especially the footwear. The ACG Mocs are the perfect example of this, and they’ve already received a handful of new colorways over the last year, but now Nike is looking to revive the Nike ACG Rufus, a pair of outdoor-ready mules.

These are looking to be very similar to the OG silhouette that dropped in 2011, sporting a seamless suede upper, a leather collar, and a speckled rubber outsole. The first colorway dropping (Limestone/Black) features Limestone on the upper and outsole, with black accenting the midsole and the swoosh on the front of the toe. You’re also getting debossed swooshes on the lateral side of each shoe, and it’s finished with an ACG bubble logo on the bottom of the heel.

Nike ACG has had a big last couple of years, dropping both new and exciting silhouettes while also dipping back into the vault to capture some of that outdoor nostalgia. After reviving the ACG Moc, it’s clear that they’re gearing up to drop more silhouettes from the vault. Also, considering that mules weren’t quite as hot when these originally dropped 13 years ago (which is probably why they weren’t that popular at the time), this re-release is already garnering a lot of attention from the sneakerhead community now that mules are big again. This is also the first time we’ve seen the silhouette back on the shelves since its original release in 2011, so this is sure to be a big drop.
