We’ve seen Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance come together time and time again — after all, founder Teddy Santis sits at the helm of the performance giant’s USA-made branch. And while we’ve seen the New York clothier churn out several unique takes on some of NB’s most iconic silhouettes, ALD’s spin on 860v2 is geared toward being active and staying stylish along the way.

To no surprise, the forthcoming kicks stay true to New Balance’s traditional design, as they’re highlighted by a blend of synthetic overlays, breathable mesh underlays, and several reflective details to ensure they’re visible even in low-light situations. As far as looks are concerned, the redesigned kicks are being released in a trio of colorways, each of which is highlighted by either red, blue, or green accents and adorned with Aimé Leon Dore branding on the tongue to acknowledge the joint effort. Additional elements that highlight this consistent partnership are its co-branded insoles.

Design aside, the 860v2 has been heralded as one of the footwear world’s best running shoes for a reason, and this stylish collaboration doesn’t skimp on function. The silhouette retains its trusty Abzorb midsole and grippy rubber outsole, as the two work hand-in-hand to promote idealized comfort with every stride you take. Although the New York imprint has put its stamp on several sought-after New Balance sneakers, this is one of the first to fully embrace the shoemaker’s athletic-centric ethos, as previous showcases have often redesigned lifestyle shoes and even hiking boots.
