While this week’s onslaught of NBA news has been impossible to ignore, Jordan Brand has still managed to make its way into the headlines. The Jumpman has shown off its sustainable side after releasing its new Hex Mule SP.

Entirely crafted from sugarcane-based foam, the curvy new release boasts a unique angular shape at the forefoot, all the while surrounded by a traditionally-designed pair of athletic slides. Additionally, the Hex Mule sits atop a set of slightly raised midsoles, making them easy to wear with virtually any pair of pants. Sure, it might not be a new pair of 11s, but the versatile new release shows a whole new side of what Jordan can pull off, outside of constantly pumping out Retro colorways and on-court kicks.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a new pair of Js without the inimitable final touches. The mule features an embossed Jumpman logo on the midsole, a larger one on the heel, and MJ’s signature’ 23′ branding. For added function, the cozy-looking steppers are rounded out with a pair of slits for extra ventilation, so you get a similar performance to Crocs without seeing a bunch of holes when looking down at your feet.

Currently, the Jordan Hex Mule SP is only available in women’s sizes, but you can go 1.5 sizes down and treat yourself to a pair for $70.
