And now the two brands have joined forces on the Buck Mason x Eddie Bauer Collection, featuring a variety of redesigned classic jackets and apparel with down insulation and retro style.
Kicking this collection off, the Yukon Jacket (one of Eddie Bauers’ best-selling jackets of all time) has been redesigned with a warm, 650-fill power-down construction while still maintaining the classic silhouette that made it a hit. The ‘42 Flight Parka has an equally storied past, originally commissioned for wear in 1942 by the US Army Air Corps, and features the same weather-resistant down construction as the rest of the Cascade Down gear. If bombers are more your speed, the duo has also redesigned an Eddie Bauer bomber from 1940, and not just any jacket, but the first down jacket to be patented in America. To keep your legs warm, the team comes through with another piece of gear used by the US Army Air Corps: The ‘42 Flight Pant, constructed with canvas-reinforced seat and knee panels, and the collection’s Cascade Down.
As for the accessories, this collection also includes a down field scarf with a box quilt and recycled ripstop nylon parachute fabric, along with a large Barn Quilt made with the same 650 fill power 120 GSM DWR-treated nylon/cotton material. There’s also a convenient pair of Merino base layers with the crew shirt and pants; both made of 150 GSM Merino wool jersey to give you lightweight warmth.
