George Henry Bass founded G.H. Bass & Co. close to 150 years ago with a singular goal in mind: make the best shoe for the job it’s intended for. Once he made that shoe, Bass unknowingly created one of the first outdoor performance brands in the country. More than a century later, his company has honored his name and work ethic by making high-quality shoes that serve a purpose. Now, with a partnership with famed department store Macy’s, the Maine heritage brand is expanding its purview outside of the footwear space with the launch of their new apparel brand: Bass Outdoors.
Bass Outdoor takes inspiration from its performance roots and adds it to an extensive line of footwear, apparel, and accessories. The products are designed to meet the gear needs of outdoor enthusiasts by being versatile, durable, and uncomplicated. Quite literally, the line will cover you from head to toe, with offerings ranging from knit caps that are both warm and stretchy, to the Peak Trail 2 Hiking Shoe that features a BDRY+ Tech waterproof micro-mesh construction that can tackle any elements. For outerwear, Bass Outdoor’s line includes offerings such as the Coastal Regular-Fit Full-Zip Fleece Vest that features BFlex stretch technology and BWarm fabric technology to keep you insulated without compromising your mobility. For colder, wetter weather, they offer the water-resistant Glacier Hiking Jacket that’s made with a stretch fabric and heavy insulation that will keep you dry and warm no matter how snowy conditions get. Furthermore, the Devils Bridge Modern Fit Stretch Performance Hiking Pants are made with BFlex stretch fabric for unrestricted movement and offer UPF 50 sun protection, which makes them ideal for any outdoor adventure.
The brand even offers flannel shirts and plaid puffer jackets that are designed to keep you warm in sub-freezing temperatures. Bass Outdoor’s collection is now available at Macy’s, and the brand will have more releases coming out over the next two weeks.
