Of all the remarkable products and concepts unveiled at CES, Sony and Honda may have just stolen the show with their game-changing electric car company. While it’s been rumored for quite some time, both significant manufacturers have finally revealed AFEELA and the marque’s first-ever prototype of the same name.

As expected, the futuristic model offers autonomous intelligence operated by a total of 45 cameras and sensors and many other top-of-the-line technologies, including Sony’s sensor tracking and Honda’s safety tech. Additionally, these are bolstered using SoCs from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis, paving the way for virtually unrivaled performance as society segues into what AFEELA touts as the “next-gen mobility experience.” Moreover, Sony Honda Mobility aims to develop Level 3 automated driving under limited conditions and enable Level 2+ driver assistance in more standard scenarios, including urban driving.

Key features found throughout the prototype are its future-forward, steering yoke-equipped interior and exterior Media Bar, the latter of which uses light to enable communication between other drivers and passengers, including the car’s battery status. Additionally, the prototype somehow fuses the real world with a virtual world, as the manufacturers have utilized Unreal Engine with help from Epic Games to deliver remarkable, transcendent experiences to life on the road. Lastly, the prototype boasts an all-wheel drive and enough room for five. Having said all that, it’s Apple’s turn to wheel out their car.
