Salomon’s XT-6 has established a legacy of its own. Despite the French brand’s esteemed reputation for producing some of the finest hiking and trail running shoes in the world, the sports utility sneakers have crossed over into the casual streetwear space because, as it turns out, people want comfortable and high-performing footwear no matter what they’re doing.

Now, the XT-6 has stepped up its game with the addition of an expanded Polyethylene membrane in the form of GORE-TEX. The shoes still ride with the same proven construction from Salomon, including the brand’s signature Agile Chassis System, Quicklace, and Molded Ortholite sockliner. However, the internal EndoFit sleeve on the standard XT-6 will be swapped for the GORE-TEX membrane, inadvertently making them 0.3oz lighter per shoe.

Making the shoe both waterproof and breathable, the PFC-free GORE-TEX enables the XT-6 to perform even better during the upcoming winter months. Additionally, the closed mesh uppers provide protection against any debris that could enter the shoe, while the innovative Quicklace has now been coated to handle harsher weather conditions.

The perfect addition to your winter wardrobe, available in both black and khaki, Salomon’s new XT-6 with GORE-TEX is expected to roll out this November with a $200 price point.
