There is no shortage of everyday carry knives on the market, but it’s hard to outdo Ridge’s Summit Knife if you’re looking for a stylish and compact folder. However, there is always room for improvement, which is why the trusty gear brand has given its signature blade a makeover to up the ante.

The new Summit Knife boasts a 2.75″ D2 high-carbon steel blade with a hardness range of 55-62 HRC. For reference, D2 steel was initially designed for military assembly lines to cut through other metals with ease, so it’s not going to fail you during your daily tasks. Its drop point blade shape has a thick spine and slope that is perfect for woodwork, slicing, or chopping, and the blade’s pointed tip allows for meticulous detailing when necessary. There’s also a linerlock, so you’ll never have to worry about the blade opening or closing when it’s not supposed to.

Perhaps most exciting about the new Summit Knife is that it’s now available in a slew of finishes to match Ridge’s flagship Wallets and KeyCases. In addition to the Carbon Fiber 3K finish that was the only option on the original Summit Knife, Ridge now offers four other finishes with carbon fiber or aluminum scales to help you maintain a cohesive EDC loadout: Forged Ember, Anodized Navy, Anodized Black, and Anodized Gunmetal. It’s worth noting that the aluminum versions weigh slightly more than the carbon iterations, but the difference is less than half an ounce.

Whichever design you choose is sure to look incredibly sleek, especially once you pair it with your matching Ridge Wallet and KeyCase. The Ridge Summit Knife launches today on the brand’s online store, where it is priced from $125.

Purchase: $125
