Nothing’s Phone 2 Will Be Available In the U.S.

Phone: Nothing

Considering Nothing just rolled out a beta program that finally brought its flagship smartphone to the states, its latest announcement was only a matter of time. In an interview with Inverse, brand CEO Carl Pei said that the second-generation model will be available in the U.S. upon release.

While fans of the London company have been clamoring to get their hands on one of the first smartphones, Pei addressed just how difficult it actually is, saying, “When you make a smartphone for the U.S., you need to work with the carriers on certification and adapting some of their features into your OS.” He goes on to mention that this is now possible thanks to the brand’s bolstered workforce. As we said, Nothing did launch its beta platform for American patrons just this month, charging $299 for the opportunity to test its latest software. Alas, the caveat was that it didn’t offer 5G support across the board, as few carriers (barring T-Mobile) offered boundless coverage.

When discussing Nothing’s availability in the states, Pei expressed his excitement, claiming, “If you look at our earbuds sales, about one-third comes from the U.S. And by not launching our phone in the U.S., we’re leaving potentially a third of the volume on the table.” From a business standpoint, this only makes sense, and from a consumer standpoint, we sure can’t wait to see how the forthcoming Phone 2 turns out.

Although details are sparse, there is a lot of Nothing to look forward to. Visit the tech boutique’s website for additional info regarding any future releases.
