Nikon cameras have long been touted as some of the most capable across all levels of experience. In an attempt to acknowledge this, the manufacturer is shining a light on its heritage with the release of its blacked-out Z fc Mirrorless Camera.

While the nostalgia-inducing, mirrorless model is still on the market and has remained one of the brand’s top-selling gadgets, the Black Edition serves as “a respectful homage to the original color schemes.” Spec-wise, this stealthy spin on the Z fc retains every bit of photo-taking prowess as the standard iterations, including advanced features like full-time Eye-Detection and 4K 30p video capture capabilities. These two (among others) are possible thanks to the 20.9-megapixel APS-C sensor, which also delivers remarkable results in low-light situations.

Additionally, Nikon unveiled the Nikkor Z 40mm f/2 lens with a vintage-inspired design. As another iconic offering from the gadgeteer’s catalog, this eye-catching accessory is impressively portable, as it claims the Nikkor Z is “ideal for everyday creation of casual portraits, street snaps, and more.” Although it will be available on its own, those who order the black-on-black Z fc model will be able to achieve the stark look at no further cost.

The Z fc Black Edition is available to pre-order on Nikon’s webshop starting from $1,200 and is expected to ship later this month.
