With countless music videos and television ads being followed by a “Shot on iPhone” subtitle, it’s always good to see camera companies unveil the latest tech that can ultimately remind people there is a significant difference between smartphone photography and legitimate camerawork. That said, Nikon just so happens to be the latest to pull it off, having unveiled its high-end Z 30 mirrorless camera.

Nikon’s latest serves as the lightest in its Z line, weighing just under 12.5 ounces and measuring just over 5” wide. And while this is an extremely pocketable camera, its size doesn’t dictate how powerful it is. The Z 30 features a 20.9-megapixel sensor for photos, in addition to a front-facing screen and 4K recording capabilities, ensuring that you get the best of both worlds. It also boasts remarkable eye-and-face-tracking tech to maintain focus throughout your recording.

This new release is geared toward content creators, as it can even last for up to 125 minutes of recording time, allowing you to capture over two hours of footage without having to worry about recharging. There is also an ecosystem of accessories meant to go hand-in-hand with the Z 30, including an external mic for crystal-clear audio and a Bluetooth remote that lets you effortlessly snap pictures, start or stop recording, and control playback from a distance.

The Z 30 is slated to release in July in a trio of different bundles, a pair of which come equipped with a VR-compatible wide-angle zoom lens. Pre-orders are available now, starting from $710.

Purchase: $710+
