LeBron’s 20th Signature Shoe with Nike Is the First to Debut as a Low-Top

The thought of LeBron James entering his 20th season in the NBA is a wake-up call for many of us, as arguably the greatest player in league history is entering the twilight phase of his storied career. Be that as it may, his lifetime contract with Nike is merely one sign that his legacy truly holds no bounds, and the star Laker forward’s 20th signature sneaker is the latest showcase of his impact on and off the court.

As far as the direct Nike LeBron line goes, this is the first-ever to debut as a low-top silhouette. However, like most other installments that came before it, it is adorned with several intricate details that highlight significant moments in James’ career. Some of these include the beloved Dunkman logo and the breathable collar lining made using Nike Sphere tech, the latter of which first appeared on the Air Zoom Generation.

Compositionally, the shoe features an innovative carbon fiber mid-foot shank for optimized energy return, an Air Zoom Turbo unit forefoot, and a 13mm thick Zoom Air unit in the back, providing maximum impact protection when landing post-jumper. It’s worth noting that there have been low silhouettes attached to James’ name in the past, including the Soldier 10 and several redesigned iterations of his standard high-top, but the LeBron XX is his first ever signature sneaker to debut with a low design.

The LeBron XX will be available in the pictured Time Machine colorway starting September 29 but expect to see more looks surface through the holiday season. On that note, Nike is yet to address pricing info, so keep an eye out for more details in the coming days.
