Over the years, countless citizens have made the shift from gas-guzzling vehicles to eco-friendlier options in an effort to save our planet — let alone save on gas. Moreover, people have even been seeking ways to shed their daily need for car rides as a whole, especially the likes of delivery drivers who are forced to zip around all over the place. Luckily for Dashers, Mates, and more, Specialized has unveiled Globe, a new sub-brand of eBike dedicated to replacing a car’s utility for short-distance trips.
While riding around in a car is fun, it takes away many of the communal elements that one’s daily routine could be filled with if it weren’t spent on the road or in traffic. With this in mind, Specialized developed Globe with the notion of “bringing more fun to local living while reducing the number of car, truck, and SUV trips needed for everyday transportation.”
Based on utility, practicality, and sustainability, the Globe eBike line looks to provide everyday riders with a more eco-friendly and wallet-friendly alternative to having to use their cars to do simple tasks throughout the day. While there aren’t any details regarding the model’s specs, Specialized has claimed that an ecosystem of applicable accessories will be released alongside the upcoming two-wheeler, and the sole photo of a Globe electric cargo bike shows it outfitted with a quartet of attached carrying baskets, two bottle holders, and a mini luggage rack over the rear wheel.
Specialized plans on taking orders for the Globe later this year, with expectations of bringing it to a neighborhood near you as soon as 2023. You can sign up now at the brand’s website to stay in the loop.
