Ringbrothers’ Flawless 1965 Pontiac GTO “Billie” Might Just Be The GOAT

Ringbrothers reveals at SEMA are basically a holiday around here at this point. Last year, Jim and Mike Ring rolled Kingpin, their 800HP Mustang Mach 1, into Las Vegas, and we’ve been wondering ever since what the Spring Green crew would cook up next. Turns out the answer is less about shock value and more about family, arriving in the form of a 650HP 1965 Pontiac GTO Convertible named Billie.

The GOAT That Became Billie

The commission traces back to a GTO the client’s mother received as a gift decades ago. Rather than hunt down a museum piece, he asked Ringbrothers to recreate the feeling of that car. And when it came time for a name, he pitched GOAT. The shop countered with Billie, as in billy goat (well done).

Fittingly, the donor was a 1965 Tempest convertible. That’s period-correct poetry, considering every GTO that year technically left Pontiac as a Tempest wearing an options package.

Five Inches Wider, Somehow Subtler

The crew ended up spending over 5,500 hours stretching the body a full five inches. And, all of this while still keeping that iconic silhouette. The fenders were reshaped, the rockers lengthened, and the rear quarters widened. Even the chrome tail trim spelling out PONTIAC had to be completely re-milled to accommodate the new shape.

Carbon fiber forms the doors, hood, front wheel tubs, and rear diffuser, while the one-piece taillight panel came from a solid billet of aluminum. All of it wears a bespoke BASF Glasurit shade dubbed Billie Goat Blue.

Modern Muscle in Pontiac Blue

That hood scoop grew 20 percent for good reason. Beneath it sits a Wegner Motorsports supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8. It’s the same unit Cadillac stuffs in the CT5-V Blackwing, and it serves up 650 horsepower alongside a matching 650 lb-ft through a Bowler 10-speed automatic.

A Roadster Shop Fast Track Stage III chassis, Fox coilovers, and six-piston Brembos keep it all civilized. As for the wheels, Ring Brothers went with staggered 19- and 20-inch HRE G-Codes wrapped in Michelin Cup 2s. And in a nod only Poncho faithful will catch, the block is sprayed in old-school Pontiac engine blue.

An Interior Brewed to Order

Inside, the dash sits four inches forward and two inches lower. The whole thing has been trimmed in gray and blue leather with Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air, and a restored factory radio hiding Bluetooth behind its face.

Our favorite flourish though has to be the olive wood shifter modeled after an espresso portafilter. A “Raised by Ringbrothers” plaque signs the work.

Pricing & Availability

Billie made its worldwide debut on November 3 at the 2026 SEMA Show, sharing the Ringbrothers booth with Recoil, the shop’s 980HP ‘66 Chevelle returning 12 years after bowing at that very show. As a one-off commission, Billie heads home with its owner after Vegas, though Ringbrothers’ billet GTO parts remain available for the rest of us.
