Since its inception in 2009, Singer Vehicle Design has blossomed into what is now widely recognized as the world’s most renowned Porsche tuning shop. And while Singer has completed dozens of breathtaking 911 builds, thus far the Southern California company has only traded in coupe and Targa versions of the car. However, this is now changing as Singer has just pulled the cover off of its first-ever cabriolet project.
Benefitting from R&D gathered for Singer’s recent Turbo Design Study, the company’s first-ever full-drop-top project is based on a 964-gen 911, though like all Singer 911s, the donor has been extensively modified both inside and out. At the heart of the 911 cabriolet is a custom-tuned, air and water-cooled, twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine that’s mated to a six-speed manual transmission. The straight-six is also good for some 510hp — all of which is sent to the car’s rear wheels.
Further performance upgrades come in the form of a cutting-edge carbon-ceramic braking setup and contemporary touring-focused suspension. Cloaked in a Cadiz red livery, the 911 cab sports 930 Turbo-inspired, widebody bodywork crafted entirely from carbon fiber. Singer’s 911 Turbo Cab also has an automatic-opening fabric roof. On top of bespoke black and Tartan upholstery and Black Forest wood accents in red, the completely redesigned interior also features modern air conditioning, electrically adjustable sports seats, and wireless phone charging.
While Singer’s first cab build is already spoken for, we expect the shop to continue expanding its range of offerings over the coming months.
