Founded by Horacio Pagani in 1992, Pagani Automobili is an ultra-elite hypercar manufacturer that uneivicoally produces some of the world’s most exclusive and most capable automobiles. Due to the immense running costs of tracking Pagani’s hypercars, a great many of the owners of the marque’s vehicles have taken to sharpening their behind-the-wheel skills using state-of-the-art sim racing rigs. Recognizing this trend, Pagani has now stepped up to start churning out Huayra R-style sim racing units that are as advanced and as exclusive as the brand’s hypercars.
Created through a collaboration between Pagani’s Vehicle Dynamics Team and the hypercar maker’s Arte in Pista program, this state-of-the-art racing sim rig initially began development in 2020 and aims to offer the most realistic and lifelike Huayra R driving experience possible. Modeled after the shape of the actual hypercar, the Huayra R Racing Sim is constructed around a carbon fiber chassis that’s crafted using the same autoclaves Pagani uses to build its cars’ frames. The monocoque framework comes cloaked in Huayra R-style bodywork brought to life in exposed carbon fiber. The inside of this sim racing cockpit mimics the exact setup found in the actual Huayra R hypercar, with an identical steering wheel, seat, and even a simulated version of Pagani’s advanced active safety belt system which offers longitudinal and lateral acceleration feedback. Measuring 122.44” in length and spanning 66.93” in width, the sim rig also comes loaded with the super top-shelf Huayra R sim pedal set that Pagani released in collaboration with Danish firm Asetek SimSports in late 2022.
The Huayra R Racing Sim Rig doesn’t just look like the Pagani hypercar, it also affords a remarkably similar driving experience, with everything from the vehicle’s driving dynamics to aerodynamics being taken into account. In addition to an ABS emulator that affords the sensation of braking at the grip limit, the cutting-edge sim racing rig also boasts actual active pitch, roll, and yaw motion cues. Thanks to a 5.1 audio system with a suite of integrated kicker speakers, the rig even sounds like the real Pagani hypercar, with emulated audio and vibration of the vehicle’s V12-R engine. In order to bring this ambitious project to life, Pagani partnered with Swiss sim racing outfit Racing Unleashed which is responsible for the actual sim racing software and infrastructure. This includes the Assetto Corsa Pro interface running on a massive curved display.
The Pagani Huayra R Racing Simulator is available for special order now, with each unit being handcrafted on a built-to-order basis — just like the brand’s seven-figure hypercars.
