It was roughly three years ago that Italy’s Automobili Amos S.r.l. introduced its thoroughly modern and resto-modded take on the Lancia Delta, resulting in what the company called the “Futurista.” Fast forward to today and Automobili Amos has unveiled its latest modernized take on the Delta, this time delivering an off-road-ready restomod known as the “Safarista.”
This completely reworked ride starts out as a Delta Integrale 16V before being treated to a reinforced chassis and a laundry list of modifications and upgrades both inside and out. Riding on a set of custom aero-disc-equipped wheels, the exterior of the Delta Integrale has also been completely revised with a custom widebody kit that includes new flared fenders and custom bumpers fore and aft, lowered front and rear shields, a central-exiting exhaust setup, an all-new sidepod arrangement, integrated front auxiliary lighting, and a perforated skid-plate. It’s also unclear if the Safarista will see its bodywork crafted from carbon fiber like it was on the Futurista. Now sporting a gutted two-seater setup, the interior of the Lancia now features a full roll cage, a racing button box, a motorsport pedal set, an AiM-style digital race display, a quick-release flat-bottom steering wheel, a carbon rear tub housing a full-sized spare wheel, and race-style bucket seats with Sabelt five-point harnesses. Under its custom hood, the Safarista packs a heavily-upgraded, Autotecnica-tuned engine that’s also received an up-specced cooling system, K&N filtration, race-grade differentials, and a sequential gearbox. Unsurprisingly, the restomod’s running gear is all of the top-shelf variety and includes Motorsport brakes, a race-spec fuel tank, a hydraulic handbrake, and a lifted and fully-adjustable suspension setup.
At most, Automobili Amos says that it will be producing no more than 10 examples of the Lancia Delta Integrale 16V Safarista. Pricing for the Safarista has been set at €570,000 (~$641,700), while deliveries of the safari-style restomod are scheduled to begin in 2023 or 2024.
