Founded in Italy in 1963, Lamborghini stands as one of the most iconic and influential automakers of all time. Over the course of the company’s history, its exotic supercar designs have arguably been more widely emulated than any other marque’s vehicles. And with 2023 marking the firm’s 60th anniversary, Lamborghini has launched a new project program that not only pays homage to its illustrious past, but also looks to the automaker’s future.
The collab is comprised of two items; a large-scale art installation; and a customized Huracán. The first half is an art project done through a joint effort with Japanese artist IKEUCHI. Dbbed the “Time Gazer,” this interactive piece of art was carefully pieced together from a variety of custom-crafted parts and numerous genuine Lambo components plucked from models such as the 25th Anniversary Countach, the Diablo SE30, the 40th Anniversary Murciélago, and the Aventador LP-720-4 50th Anniversary.
A product of Lamborrghini’s custom one-off Opera Unica division, the car is based on a Huracán STO and has been christened the “Time Chaser_111100.” Taking ample inspiration from cyberpunk and robot anime, the 631-hp Super Trofeo Omologata-spec model wears a custom livery white livery juxtaposed by swaths of matte black and silver adorning the vehicle’s doors, front splitter, and rear wing. Cyberpunk-style decals also cloak the V10 supercar’s bodywork. Mounted just ahead of the Lamborghini’s wing is a custom-made module that bestows the project’s donor vehicle with an unmistakable futuristic aesthetic.
With the unique nature of the program’s first project, we’re extremely excited to see the followup endeavors — and one-off vehicles — that this anniversary effort will later yield.
