Ever since debuting its first vehicle in 1963 — the 350 GTV — Lamborghini’s use of exotic V-12 engines have long been a hallmark trait of the brand. And while it does currently utilize some V8 and V10 mills, high-performance gas engines have always been a defining trait of the marque — a fact that makes the reveal of its first-ever all-electric vehicle so incredibly noteworthy.

Dubbed the Lamborghini Lanzador, the super-sporty, slightly-lifted cross-over is described by the Italian firm as the firm “Ultra GT” model. Utilizing a 2+2 seating configuration, this GT crossover sports a sleek spaceship-inspired design that also includes numerous nods to existing cars from Lamborghini’s lineup, both past and present. Made from recycled composite, this bodywork also features the Huracán Performante and Aventador SVJ’s same Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) system, as well as an additional suite of active aero elements including a movable splitter and air blades can extend out from the diffuser to bolster downforce thanks to a flow-through rear blown spoiler.

The Lanzador’s state-of-the-art active aero kit just scratches the surface in terms of cutting-edge technology that this concept packs. Riding on 23” wheels that feature the brand’s signature hexagonal motif and are mounted to an active chassis including a steerable rear axle and air suspension, the Lanzador benefits from the Raging Bull’s newly-developed Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata driving dynamics control system, as well as aWheelspeed Control system. As one would expect from Lamborghini, there Lanzador’s all-electric powertrain produces gobs of horsepower and torque, with separate motors at the front and rear axles that produce a collective megawatt of power (or 1,000kW or 1,341hp).

Though thus far only a one-off concept, the Lamborghini Lanzador is scheduled to enter production in 2028. With any luck, the company will eventually release a Lanzador Sterrato as the concept, with its lifted ride height and already flared fenders, would make for an excellent off-roader platform.
