Unlike a great many car collectors that maintain largely static stables that seldom get driven, Ken Block actually enjoys not only regularly piloting every car he owns, but also pushing each one to their respective limits while behind the wheel. And after recently parting ways with his modified Ford RS200, the YouTube-famous wheelman and rally legend found himself in need of a new street-legal ride —ultimately resulting in the creation of Block’s new replica resto-mod.
The project started with the Hoonigan gang building out a replica of the ’80s era Audi Sport Quattro — a 302hp Group B-inspired sports car that was the first production model to feature both a turbocharged engine and all-wheel-drive. The stock bodywork has been slightly tweaked before being swapped out for all carbon fiber and carbon Kevlar panels. Under its asymmetrical hood, the “repli-mod” packs a larger 2.5L 20-valve five-banger that’s been paired with an upgraded six-speed transmission and received a prototype Wagner Tuning intercooler and a modified Garrett G-series turbocharger — a setup that’s good for 736hp at the wheel. Alongside a top-shelf suspension setup with Motorsport Edition KW shocks, the project also received a custom Hoonigan-spec set of Rotiform’s ROC wheels (referred to as the “ROC-H”) that are now wrapped in Toyo R888R rubber. The interior of Ken’s new ride also gets a completely bespoke carbon dash with rally-style embedded fuses and an array of toggle switches, as well as modified Recaro Pole Position Classic seats adorned in a colorful pattern borrowed from Hoonigan’s recent collab with It’s A Living and Modernica. What’s more, the interior’s handbrake is also a backup unit built for the HOONITRUCK that was CNC-machined from a single piece of billet.
Now complete, Ken Block plans on utilizing his new Audi Sport Quattro replica resto-mod as a regular daily driver. For a markedly more in-depth look at the project, you can watch the full YouTube video posted below.
