Genesis recently revealed an impressive concept vehicle, the Genesis Neolun, in its Genesis House showroom during the New York Auto Show, giving us a peak at what a future full-size electric SUV from the company would look like. The Genesis Neolun is also the first full-size electric SUV we’ve seen from Genesis, with a streamlined aesthetic inspired by Korean design.

The Genesis Neolun is an all-electric luxury SUV clad in a two-tone Midnight Black and Majestic Blue inspired by the night sky in Korea and has a super clean, almost seamless body with suicide doors. Genesis’ signature headlight slits have been transformed into a pair of unbroken lines that form a small triangle in the middle, adding to the sleek look and connecting to the side repeaters and tail lamps. Inside, there’s a spacious two-row cabin with Royal Indigo cashmere and Purple Silk leather seats (that can swivel 180 degrees), dark wood flooring, and a 24.6-inch display. Interestingly, Genesis has combined a rotary column-type SBW with the steering wheel that sits at 12 o’clock while parking and shifts to 2 o’clock when you start the engine.

Genesis states that it’s following the “Reductive Design philosophy” with this concept, opting for a design that’s all about perfecting the basics. The “Neolun” in the name is a reference to the moon as well, and the minimalist design of the SUV was inspired by Korean moon-shaped porcelain jars.

Considering that this is a concept vehicle, the Genesis Neolun isn’t slated to go into production at the time of writing, but it’s likely that some features/design motifs will show up in other Genesis vehicles down the line (hopefully, it’s the suicide doors).
