Despite this year’s SEMA Show now only a day away, Ford has nonetheless opted to give the motoring public an early glimpse at the fleet of one-off vehicles the Michigan marque has prepared for the annual Las Vegas-based car show.
Of the more than 40 one-off creations prepared for SEMA, Ford has thus far given sneak peeks at 16 of these bespoke projects prior to their public unveiling in the coming days. This includes a lifted MAD Industries F-450 Super Duty Platinum powered by a 6.7L V8, a 7.3L V8-powered F-250 Super Duty Tremor build from Advanced Accessory Concepts, an F-150 Raptor courtesy of Addictive Desert Designs, an F-150 Hybrid Lariat from Hypertech, a camping and overland-focused BTR F-150 Tremor, a Maverick Pickup lifeguard rescue vehicle built by D.R.A.G.G, a slammed All Star Mustang EcoBoost HPP, an F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid built by Hellwig based on a Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew, an off-road Ranger from Skyjacker with a full 6″ lift kit, a Mustang GT from M2 Motoring, a Tjin Edition Mustang Mach-E California Route One, a thoroughly slammed Maverick build completed by Tucci, a ridiculously well-appointed Ranger Tremor built in collaboration by Attitude Performance and Outside Magazine, and a custom Mustang Mach-E GT that was built by the Austin Hatcher Foundation to raise money in the fight against pediatric cancer. And while it might not be the most elaborate build of the bunch, the most noteworthy vehicle of the lot is almost certainly the Shelby Mustang Mach-E concept, as it actually stands a very real chance of seeing the light of production. In typical Shelby fashion, this concept car represents a more high-performance take on the regular Mach-E, and as such comes equipped with Shelby-tuned Ford MagneRide dampers with composite carbon fiber springs, a graphene-infused carbon fiber body with a full aero kit, race-style Recaro seats, 20″ one-piece forged Monoblock wheels, and a custom throwback striped livery — a clear nod to the Shelby Mustangs of half-a-century-ago.
All 40-something one-off Ford builds will make their official public debuts at the 2021 SEMA Show running from November 2nd through the 5th. It should also be interesting to see which, if any, of these projects influence production offerings on later Ford models.
