In order to make sure classic automobiles remain relevant as the world slowly, but surely, transitions to battery-powered engines, many custom shops have begun giving old favorites the EV treatment. One of the most popular firms is Everrati, boasting a lineup that already includes electrified versions of classics such as the GT-40, Porsche 964, and Mercedes Pagoda.
Now, the British company adds two revered 4×4 vehicles to its electric range: the Range Rover Classic and Land Rover Defender. Throughout the ‘70s, the Range Rover Classic became an icon for being one of the first to balance off-road capability with luxurious features. Likewise, the Defender made its own mark a decade later, seen as a modern take on the Jeep, and one that’s still a fan-favorite today.
Already featuring an EV version of the Defender’s progenitor, the Land Rover Series IIA, Everrati has yet to unveil performance specs on the two new vehicles but has promised to preserve the spirit of the iconic originals, albeit upgrading the powertrain and fitting the interior with the “world’s lowest carbon leather” from premium outfit Bridge of Weir. Each order will be given bespoke customizations according to the owner’s requests.
