If you hurt yourself badly enough off-grid, or even in the wilderness, chances are you’ll have to get airlifted in some sort of medical helicopter. Ground-based vehicles won’t always be able to reach you, and even if they can, they’re seldom equipped for proper tie-down. When venturing into the hard-to-reach, you always run the risk of bodily harm but with the new utility trailer from Da Orffo, you can adventure worry-free.
Based out of Poland, Da Orffo evades the generic off-road trailer in favor of models that are more purpose-built, such as the Life Chariot medical evacuation passenger unit, which already took home the James Dyson Award. Sure, glamping-focused campers are fun and can definitely level up the outdoor experience, but as the kids say, “Safety first!” Equipped with a roll cage body, the unit is built on top of the brand’s U1 chassis, which is a heavy-duty off-road trailer featuring a 140” x 90” steel platform and modular capability with swappable tops that can be exchanged for a cargo hauler.
Sporting a simple layout with a lightweight build, the Life Chariot comes with two seats with seatbelts, a NATO stretcher with security belts, a pair of hermetically sealed boxes, and a heavy-duty tarpaulin. On top of the unit is a sturdy roof rack for any extra equipment. To make matters even easier, Da Orffo also offers a proprietary suspension kit, which includes two swing arms, a pair of hub drums, 10-inch Coilover Profender shocks, and a 160cm transversal bar with hooks.
Along with the Life Chariot, Da Orffo also offers its D1 Cargo Trailer, as well as accommodations for a Neo-Dyne Automatic Bike Ramp and Yakima SkyRise M HD Roof Tent. The Life Chariot will be priced at €19,750 (~$21,675), although no release date has been announced yet. Head to Da Orffo’s website to learn more.
