It was almost exactly one year ago that Battle Approved Motors — or “BAM” — pulled the cover off of its forthcoming fully-electric R101 UTV. And while BAM’s electron and proton-powered side-by-side model remains its flagship vehicle and primary focus, the company has now revealed its next all-electric off-roader with what it’s christened the STOMPER.
Also known simply as the “BAM QUAD,” the STOMPER is a high-performance fully-electric ATV that packs a state-of-the-art powertrain. Thus far, the quad merely exists as a prototype, though it’s abundantly clear that the ATV has been thoroughly fleshed out, with the STOMPER putting down just shy of 55kW (75hp) and 99ft-lbs of torque. The STOMPER’s electric powertrain also means the vehicle requires very little maintenance and servicing compared to traditional petrol-powered all-terrain vehicles. And, as BAM itself has pointed out, the go-anywhere capabilities of the quad coupled with its nearly-silent motor and generous battery life also make it incredibly ideal for military and recon use.
Modeled after racing quads, the STOMPER features a sleek design with massively flared fenders, a protected drivetrain, framed floorboards, and a pair of LED lightbars mounted above the front wheels and a handlebar-mounted unit that together serve as the vehicle’s headlights. BAM’s quad also sports off-road wheels wrapped in knobby all-terrain tires, as well as race-grade long-travel suspension fore and aft. The creation of the STOMPER has also allowed BAM to further develop the software that will be used across its entire range of electric off-roaders.
Thus far, Battle Approved Motors has yet to reveal pricing, specs, or production details surrounding the STOMPER, though interested parties can sign up to receive updates on the company’s website.
