There’s something about supercars that evokes a child-like sense of elation within us. The roaring engine, the sleek lines, the fact that they have “super” in their name. Every piece of a supercar works in harmony with its counterparts to create a high-performing symphony of automotive excellence. One such supercar that epitomizes this line of thought is the Ford GT, an icon of elite American automotive engineering. On their own, these cars are beyond special. Add to it a history of being owned by an iconic comedian and notorious gearhead, however, and you have a dream scenario for almost any car fan.
Thankfully, you don’t have to fantasize about finding a Ford GT that meets this criteria since Tim Allen, of Toy Story and Home Improvement fame, is putting his 2017 Ford GT up for auction. This automotive masterpiece has a mere 700 miles on its odometer and is in prime condition for a car lover with deep pockets. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 engine with an output of 647 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque, so you won’t have to worry about needing more power… grunt, grunt, grunt. Tim Allen’s 2017 Ford GT features a carbon fiber construction, an iconic teardrop-like silhouette, and glossed carbon fiber trim on the side skirts, front and rear fasciae, side mirrors, and engine bay louvers. It was also fitted with a Heffner titanium exhaust system and sports a speed-activated rear wing and front spoiler. Inside, the cockpit comes with the Dark Energy package featuring ebony Alcantara and manually reclining Sparco bucket seats with carbon-fiber shells.
To commemorate its uniqueness, a plaque on the passenger dash states this was the 74th Ford GT built in 2017. A last nod to this Ford GT’s pedigree is its “2L TIME” Michigan license plate, an allusion to Detroit-set Tool Time, the show-within-a-show that Tim Allen’s character hosted on Home Improvement. With a starting price tag of $1 million, you might need to host your own television show in order to afford this supercar. You can place your bid now on Bring a Trailer.
