Airstream’s Special-Edition Travel Trailer Channels 350 Years of Cowboy Culture

With a history that spans nearly 100 years, Airstream is one of the most beloved travel trailer makers in the world — and instantly recognizable from half-a-mile down the highway. But this week, the American camper builder partnered with two establishments that have been around since the 19th century.

Enter the Airstream Stetson + 6666 Special Edition, a 27-foot travel trailer that feels ripped straight from the set of a classic Western. It’s a three-way collaboration between Airstream, legendary hat maker Stetson, and Four Sixes Ranch in Texas — three brands with over 350 combined years of American heritage. The result is probably the most thematically cohesive special edition we’ve seen from Airstream, which has experimented with partnerships before (just look at the Frank Lloyd Wright collab we covered a few months back).

Ranch-Ready Design

The exterior sets the stage with a red beltline stripe, weathered metal accents, and a Stetson hat screen door guard that nods to the frontier era. The power awning is embroidered with a Southwest-inspired pattern and branded with both Stetson and 6666 logos. Front solar guards feature cowboy artwork that lets you know what you’re getting into before you even step inside.

Once you open that custom-branded door, you’re walking into what can only be described as a mobile Western saloon. There’s a black stained oak dinette, tobacco brown leather upholstery, and an oversized hammered copper apron front sink in the kitchen (plus another copper basin in the bathroom). For decor, you’ll see vintage Stetson advertisement artwork, Western-inspired woven window coverings with leather tiebacks, and even a dedicated hat rack sized for three Stetsons. The color palette draws directly from West Texas landscapes with rustic browns, warm clay tones, oxblood red, and charcoal greys.

Built for the Trail

Beyond the aesthetics, this is still an Airstream, which means it’s built for serious travel. The floor plan sleeps up to four with a front bedroom that converts between a queen or two twins, plus a convertible dinette. An optional rear hatch with sliding screen opens the space to sweeping outdoor views. Standard equipment includes 2.4 kWh lithium batteries, a 2,000W inverter, and 300W of rooftop solar with interior monitoring. GVWR sits at 7,600 lbs, so you’ll need a capable tow vehicle.

This trailer is Airstream’s first entry in what they’re calling their Collaboration Series — future partnerships with brands across various industries. Each unit features a stylized “6666” vinyl decal, mirroring the brand that Four Sixes cattle have carried since 1870.
