The Ram TRX vanished after 2024, and for two model years the wildest truck in the lineup was simply gone. That left Ford’s Raptor R alone atop the desert-truck heap, unchallenged and probably a little bored.
Well, the challenger is back. Ram has resurrected the TRX for 2027, bolted on an SRT badge, and crammed 777 horsepower under that vented hood.
The Hellcat Refuses to Die
Under the scoop sits the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8, the same Hellcat that’s been rattling windows for Mopar faithful over a decade now. Here it’s cranked to 777 hp and 680 lb-ft, up from the old TRX’s already insane 702.
Ram is calling this the most powerful production gas off-road truck ever built, and at these numbers, who’s going to argue? It rips to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, quicker than a Mustang Dark Horse, and tops out at a best-in-class 118 mph. On 35-inch tires. In a pickup.
For context, Ford’s F-150 Raptor R makes 720 hp from its supercharged 5.2-liter V8 and stickers north of $110,000. The TRX makes more power and costs less.
Built to Catch Air
None of that straight-line silliness came at the expense of the dirt-flinging hardware that turned the TRX into a cult hero. Full-time four-wheel drive, Launch Control, and Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks all come standard, paired with Ram’s Active Terrain Dynamics suspension.
You also get 14 inches of rear axle travel, 11.8 inches of ground clearance, and a Dana 60 full-float rear axle built to shrug off whatever you launch it over.
A Spa That Happens to Do Donuts
Now for the truly absurd part. For a truck built to get sideways in a wash, the cabin is downright pampering. It includes12-way heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, reclining heated and ventilated rears, and leather, suede, and real carbon fiber throughout.
A 14.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital cluster, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon system handle the rest. Ram even made Hands-Free Active Drive Assist standard, so its 777-hp brute will steer itself on the highway. Consider it a jab at the Raptor.
