Gemballa’s Marsien GT Supercar Swaps Dakar Sand for a RUF-Tuned 830HP Assault

Back in 2021, the son of legendary Porsche tuner Uwe Gemballa introduced himself to the world with the Marsien, a 992 Turbo S reimagined as a sand-flinging homage to the 959’s Paris-Dakar glory days. All 40 sold, and the thing single-handedly kicked off the modern safari supercar craze.

Now Marc Philipp Gemballa is back with a follow-up that heads the opposite direction entirely. Say hello to the road-only Marsien GT.

Out of the Dunes, Onto the Autobahn

This isn’t a Marsien with the lift kit deleted. Each of the 30 planned builds starts as a previous-gen 992.1 Turbo S coupe before roughly 1,500 new components go in, including over 100 carbon fiber pieces that leave it 165 pounds lighter than the donor car.

The aero went active, too. Pneumatically actuated front fender louvres and a raised rear wing snap open in an instant, while a roof scoop, ram air intakes, and a full carbon underbody round out the affair.

Underneath sits an entirely new KW double wishbone setup with dampers that adjust within 20 milliseconds. And yes, there’s still a nose lift for your driveway.

The Other Legendary Family Involved

RUF, the same outfit that built engines with Marc’s father back in the ’80s, handles the twin-turbo flat-six once again. Here’s the kicker, though: every single original Marsien buyer optioned the upgrade from 750 to 830 horsepower, so the GT simply makes 830+ HP and 686 lb-ft the baseline.

The brand claims 62 mph arrives in a ridiculous 2.4 seconds on the way to 205 mph, all soundtracked by a bespoke titanium quad exhaust from Akrapovič.

Carrera GT Energy Inside

The cabin might be our favorite bit. The center console has been raised and angled like the Carrera GT’s iconic bridge, topped with an aluminum lever in place of the stock PDK selector. Alcantara covers Porsche’s piano-black plastic, and the divisive pop-out door handles are gone entirely.

The launch car’s four-layer Anniversary Liquid Champagne Gold paint honors what would’ve been Uwe Gemballa’s 70th birthday. Fittingly, the GT’s 30-car run caps the entire Marsien program at exactly 70 vehicles.
