Porsche’s Japan-Only 911 GT3 Might Be the Most Beautiful Manufaktur Build Yet

Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur division has been quietly responsible for some of the wildest 911s of the last few years, but it usually keeps the work behind closed doors. This week the curtain lifted on the GT3 Artisan Edition, a 30-unit run reserved entirely for the Japanese market and dressed in references to two of the country’s most revered crafts. It’s also packing the Manthey Kit as standard fare, which means this Porsche is more than just a pretty face.

A Tribute Drawn From Glass and Dye

The exterior pulls from Edo Kiriko, the centuries-old cut glass tradition known for its faceted, prismatic patterns, and from indigo dyeing, the deep blue hue Japan has been chasing since the Edo period. The white bodywork is overlaid with a shard-like graphic in Club Blue and lighter accents that fade across the rear haunches, meant to evoke “the flow of air and time.” The rear wheels are sure to turn some heads, capped with blue carbon fiber aero discs etched in a web pattern that reads as cut glass.

Inside, the indigo theme carries through. The seat inserts feature a hand-dyed pattern, the dash and console get blue and white trim, and the leather is double-stitched in Speed Blue and white. Even the key fob is painted to match the body, showing that no stone was left unturned here.

The Manthey Kit Is The Real Headline

The mechanical package is where this car earns its keep. Every Artisan Edition comes standard with the Manthey Kit, the same hardware Porsche uses to lap the Nürburgring in production-car-record territory. That means a four-way adjustable coilover suspension, steel-sleeved brake lines, an aggressive aero package with a reinforced carbon rear wing, and an underbody redesign aimed at downforce.

The 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six is unchanged, which is to say untouchable: 502 horsepower, 331 lb-ft, and a 9,000 rpm redline that still feels absurd on a 2026 spec sheet. Zero to 60 hits in 3.2 seconds, top speed is 193 mph, and the only transmission on offer is the seven-speed PDK. Manual purists, this one isn’t for you.

A Tribute, On Porsche’s Terms

Obviously Japan drives on the left, which means most cars there are typically right-hand drive; but not all cars. Porsche built the Artisan Edition exclusively for Japan and made it left-hand drive only, and that’s not necessarily the snub it might sound like. LHD European exotics have long carried a certain prestige in the Japanese collector scene, so the choice actually plays well with the target buyer. It also keeps the car unmistakably Stuttgart in feel.

It’s safe to say the 30 buyers presumably won’t mind. They’ll also have the option of grabbing pieces from the matching Wearable Heritage Collection, a capsule of indigo-themed apparel that runs from a $104 T-shirt up to $322 jackets and co-branded Puma sneakers. If you’re spending six figures on the livery, you might as well wear it too.

Pricing & Availability

Porsche hasn’t disclosed pricing yet, though the standard 992.2 GT3 in Japan starts at ¥28,680,000 (~$180,200). With the Manthey hardware and bespoke detailing baked in, the Artisan Edition will land well above that, likely brushing up against the ¥38,430,000 (~$241,400) asked for the new GT3 S/C drop-top.
