When Ferrari capped its Icona series production run at 599 units of the Daytona SP3 back in 2021, it was clear they’d created something untouchable — a barchetta-style homage to the marque’s Le Mans-dominating prototypes from the 1960s, powered by their most potent naturally aspirated V12 road engine ever. But Novitec, the Bavarian outfit that’s been surgically enhancing Italian exotics since 1989, saw room for refinement.

The Heart of the Matter
The centerpiece here is Novitec’s meticulously calibrated exhaust system, complete with metal catalysts and full thermal insulation. By optimizing exhaust gas flow and reducing back pressure, the German tuner coaxes an additional 28 hp from Ferrari’s 6.5-liter F140HC V12, bumping total output to 868 hp. That’s not a massive jump on paper, but with a naturally aspirated engine already screaming to 9,500 rpm, every pony counts.

The exhaust itself comes with electronically controlled sound management, allowing drivers to toggle between subtle and full-throated race car wail from inside the cockpit. For those looking to go the extra mile (which you probably do if you own a Daytona SP3), Novitec offers optional 999 fine gold-plating on the entire system to further optimize heat dissipation. Importantly, the setup retains the stock tailpipes, so the SP3’s flowing rear-end design stays intact.

Wheels and Details
Novitec partnered with American manufacturer Vossen to develop three designs of high-tech forged wheels exclusively for this program. The staggered setup — 9.5Jx20 fronts with 265/30 ZR20 tires and 12.5Jx21 rears with 345/30 ZR21 rubber — emphasizes the car’s wedge shape while maintaining that center-lock aesthetic befitting a multi-million-dollar hypercar. There’s no N-Largo widebody treatment or aggressive aero add-ons here. Novitec understood the assignment by respecting what Ferrari’s designers created, and then refining it.

Inside, the tuner offers full customization of the two-seat cabin in any shade of leather or Alcantara you can dream up, hand-finished at their facility in Stetten.
